The Senate consists of Past Presidents of the Icsid Executive Board. Acting as an advisory board, the Senators contribute a broad range of knowledge and experience to the ongoing development of Icsid.

The immediate Past President also serves as Convenor of the Senate, and acts as the liaison between the Senate and the current Executive Board.
