Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs
In the 18th and 19th century the ENSAD was mainly a drawing and mathematics school for decorative arts. In the 30’s the teach of graphic design was introduced and in the 60’s industrial designer Roger Tallon founded the Industrial design department. Meanwhile “graphic arts” developed into “visual communication” thanks to our professor Jean Widmer. In the 70’s other faculties as textile, fashion, inner architecture, video, scenography, furniture design and computer images appeared. Finally, in the 80’s multimedia was introduced and completed the pedagogical offer of the school formed by 10 departments.
