About the design

The aim of the project was to design and develop a range of premium perfume bottles along with an appropriate fragrance catering to the global market. The project was carried out for 'Jean Paul Dupont', an upcoming fragrance line which includes natural perfumes for men, teens' perfumes, perfumes for corporate women and unisex perfumes. The proposal of understanding perfumes and incorporating the insights into the final bottle design was very interesting.

The design process was a holistic exercise. Detailed research was carried out to have an idea on the trend and cultural ideologies in Europe and the U.S. as well as for identifying opportunities for teens for deriving inspiration for the concepts. Market research was carried out followed by visualizing through sketches. Each concept was developed keeping in mind the brand values. Environmental issues were also considered within the customized standards of infrastructure and manufacturing possibilities.

Selected concepts were evaluated through 3D models to ensure the proportion and ergonomic issues. Enough thought was also given on value additions through dual purposes, i.e., empty perfume bottles to be used as vases, etc.
