The Icsid General Assembly is the primary gathering of Icsid's international network of members. Held immediately following the  2009 Icsid World Design Congress on 26-27 November, the main function of the General Assembly is to engage the international network of members in a dialogue addressing administrative issues and strategic initiatives for the future.

About the General Assembly

Comprised of all Icsid Members in good standing, delegates gather during this two-day meeting to:

• discuss the general action and direction of the organisation
• receive reports from the Executive Board and Secretary General
• ratify new members
• elect members to the Executive Board as the governing body of the organisation
  

Why attend?

Since 1959, the Icsid General Assembly has convened biennially and has provided an opportunity for members to network face-to-face, renew old relationships, as well as nurture international contacts.

Through a shared understanding and respect for the international membership, the results from the General Assembly enable Icsid to implement global and collaborative initiatives to address economic, social, cultural, and environmental issues relating to the profession of industrial design.

General assembly workshops

During the General Assembly, members actively participate in a  workshops session of their choice. Results from these workshops greatly influence the strategic direction of the organisation as they capture the concerns and recommendations of the membership.

3. Icsid - an advocate of design
4. Future scenarios - a ten year plan

If your organisation is unable to attend, please make sure to advise us through the online registration and, if eligible, assign your proxy to vote in your absence.

Nominations for the Icsid Executive Board

Icsid Member organisations have until 30 July to nominate individuals to the Executive Board of Directors. These individuals must represent, or be a member of an Icsid Member organisation and are selected to act on behalf of the membership to oversee the development and implementation of the organisation's strategic direction.

Nominations can be made through the General Assembly registration process in the Members' Area.

Online registration: easy, fast, reliable

Icsid Members can now register online to attend the General Assembly, via the Members' Area  of the website. The new online process will enable members to:

• register delegates to attend the General Assembly
• nominate proxies (where applicable)
• nominate members to the Executive Board
