The UK plug has gotten a face lift with this neat 10mm plug created by Min-Kyu Choi of the Royal College of Art in London.





The folding plug can be used in two ways:

1) Unfold the plug's wings for a secure normal UK plug.
2) Fold back the wings and the two live prongs can swivel 90 degrees to form a thinner vertical shape to be used with his multiplug adapter.



The adapter can hold up to 3 folded plugs, an item that has long been missing in this plug's adaptability standards. Its North American counter part, the 15 A/125 V plug, has enjoyed the benefits of multiple outlets in a single power bar for decades. The adapter also has another version with two USB outlets for computer users.



As detailed in Iconeye.com, an improvement of the every day life items should not be overlooked, yet should be greatly encouraged.

Choi recently won the 2010 British Insurance Design Award last month has won praise for his creative solution to common every day problem.
