DO WE KNOW ALL WE NEED TO KNOW?

Dilki de Silva
Icsid Secretary General

I have been on the receiving end of many discussions about what drives our organisation. This week's feature article, Mining our natural resources: the user as expert, reports on the importance of interacting with real people in order to gain useful information about design. Drawing from one of our signature international development projects, the success of Interdesign, for example, has enabled industrial designers from around the world to  spend time with the end user to develop a solution to local design issues.

As we launch the first edition of the Icsid Blog, I would like to learn from the best practices of Interdesign to mine our own resources and open the floor to the professionals, educators, promoters and enthusiasts of design. How we can make our network more effective? Where are the opportunities for us to learn from one another?
