About the design

VELA pendant - a unique combination of LED lighting with technical lighting - is made of a modular system which offers different combinations for business offices, centers and shopping malls. Using Power LED combined with optical lens as well as reflector, VELA bring a unique touch to your environment. It allows the architects to integrate lighting into the architecture, and gives them flexibility to design different combinations based on taste. Made of aluminum extrusion profile, VELA uses power LEDs which also allow the end user to benefit from low-cost, high efficiency, and most importantly future-safe, environmentally safe lighting sources. VELA can come in different colors including gray, black or white and can be as long as required.

About the designers

Meltem Maralcan: Meltem graduated from I.T.U. Industrial Design Department in 2002. She is doing her MSc in History of Art in İstanbul University with a thesis on the reflections of Seljuk period candles on the interiors by the  aesthetic principle of filtering the light through decorative patterns. Since  2006, she is the co-founder of omletistanbul design office providing design consultancy services to a range of Turkish companies in the area of furniture accessories, architectural lighting, furniture and medical equipment as well as designing, producing products specifically for museums' own collections. She also advertise her brand and contribute to the environment, she attends different activities such as various exhibitions and design fairs – where she also represents omletistanbul products - and working as a workshop coordinator.

Aysun Altındağ: Graduated from I.T.U. Industrial Design Department in 2003. She is doing her MSc in the same department on relationship between the companies located in Turkey and design consultancy firms. Since  2006, she is the co-founder of omletistanbul design office providing design consultancy services to a range of Turkish companies in the area of furniture accessories, architectural lighting, furniture and medical equipment as well as designing, producing products specifically for museums’ own collections. Also, to improve herself, advertise her brand and contribute to the environment, she attends different activities such as various exhibitions and design fairs - where she also represents omletistanbul products - and working as a workshop coordinator.
