BLOK
ABOUT THE DESIGN
Blok: Kindergarten Classroom Aid
The kindergarten experience is intended to foster interaction among children, and between children and teachers. The aim is to develop important social skills, including learning to take turns and to pay attention to others when working in a group. Children are also encouraged to practice sharing. While a major goal of kindergarten is the development of interpersonal relationships, this is a challenge because, while most children will play imaginary games together, they tend to choose to work on most other tasks independently. The blok classroom PC allows children to work at basic tasks, such as the recognition of shapes, numbers, letters, and symbols, all while interacting with their peers.
Award Year: 2006-2007
Prize: Judges' Award - 1st Place
