About the design

Designed as a contemporary seating unit for guests both in the offices and at the lounge areas. It offers comfortable seating.

The form implies symmetry of forces and balance which is also defined as harmony. We know that human body seeks for harmony because of its nature. That is why the object has a sympathetic, appealing appearance.

The split form of the product creates a surprising visual effect. It urges curiosity to understand how they stand together. Also invites one to experience the seating action on a split form which is unusual.

With its sculpturesque, dynamic form which comes from slight angles creates a pleasing contrast between linear furnitures, rectangular spaces of contemporary office interiors. This visual richness of the chair make it also suitable for lounge areas, large reception halls, when used in numerous amount it brings joyful perspective quality to the space.

About the designers

Ece Selamoğlu Yalım: Ece set up Artful Interior Design Co. in 1996 and Ece Yalım Design Studio in 2004 with Oğuz Yalım. Interior design and industrial design works go side by side at the firm, designing home and office furniture, lighting units and accessories for Pasabahce, Nurus, Ersa, Arlight, AHK Interiors and for their own brand at the moment

Additionally, she supervises graduate students and teaching 'Color in Industrial Design' in the ID department in METU as a part time instructor since 2004

Oğuz Yalım: Oğuz set up Artful Interior Design Co. in 1996, and Ece Yalım Design Studio in 2004 with Ece Yalım. Interior design and industrial design works go side by side at the firm, designing home and office furniture, lighting units and accessories for Pasabahce, Nurus, Ersa, Arlight, AHK Interiors and for their own brand.

Since 1993, he has worked as interior designer on a wide variety of projects; such as restaurants, showrooms, office interiors, hospitals, domestic spaces. Designed custom furnitures and objects for interior projects. He took part in advising and creating corporate identities for some interior spaces he designed.

Feride Toprak: Feride graduated from the department of Industrial design of Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 2005. After graduation, she joined  'Ece Yalım Design Studio' team.

She also works on designing computer graphics for certain applications on different interior projects of the company. And she does the drafting and the computer aided 3D modelling for the products.
