Swedish Industrial Design Foundation
SVID, the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation was founded in 1989 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), SIND (now known as the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, or Tillväxtverket) and the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design (Svensk form).

At the time of its foundation, SVID’s focus was on industrial design. Today, SVID works along the lines of a much broader spectrum to demontrate design as a force for development for the private and public sectors. Its target groups include industry and commerce, policy makers, local government, designers, universities and colleges.
