Objeto Brasil is a non-government organisation created in 1996 with the prerogative of promoting Brazilian Design in our country and to the world, whether it be the fruit of craftsmanship or high technology.

We're putting all our efforts to foster the "Brazil" brand worldwide, emphasizing the importance of design to national business, development and innovation.

Objeto Brasil has promoted numerous conventions, exhibitions, partnerships, trainings, publications, lectures and other actions in Brazil, including the exhibition Design nos 500 Anos at Pinacoteca do Estado and Parque da Luz, and abroad, taking Brazilian Design to Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Japan, the United States and Scandinavian countries.

Joice Joppert Leal is the founder and Executive Director of Objeto Brasil and general coordinator of IDEA/Brasil. She has developed many activities in the promotion of Design and Craftsmanship in Brazil as well as abroad. She was also the head of the Technology Department and Industrial Design Team of FIESP - Federation of Industries of São Paulo State - from its creation up to the end of 1998. She was the director of Institutional Products of SESI - Social Service of the Industry of the São Paulo State. She has taken part, by invitation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, in the Research Institutes Evaluation Commission of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Council of Scientific and Technological Development in 1993/94.
