The Hungarian Design Council was set up in April, 2002 as the successor in title of the Hungarian Council for Industrial Designs and Ergonomics. The advisory body for the coordination of interests and opinions has a three-year mandate; its function include the creation and direction of a comprehensive work program in the interest of the development of national design culture in conformity with the objectives of economic, innovation, environment and educational policies.
