Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design Torino
The Istituto d’Arte Applicata e Design Torino was founded in 1978 in the capital city of Industrial design through the initiative of a group of professionals that operated in the field of visual communication and product design, and immediately became a reference point for education and industry.
The Institute, which in over 25 years of activity has succeeded in catalysing around traditional teaching subjects, a group of teachers and highly specialized professionals, is the first Italian institute to offer a course of "Car body architecture", today called "Transportation design" and attended by students from all over the world.
Since 2000, renewed in its directive staff, the Institute's contacts with the working world have grown (end of year thesis developments in partnerships with Italian and international firms, didactic internships, creation of public exhibitions). The Institute is considered an important reference point for the firms that are looking for highly qualified personnel in the field of design.
Since 2005, the first level post-diploma specialisations (three-year courses) and second level specialisations (master courses) have been officially recognized by EABHES for obtaining the European Bachelor of Science in Design.
Courses foresee different lengths according to the level and are addressed to undergraduates, graduates, and professionals in search of qualified adjournments.
European bachelors, and European masters and seminars begin every year in October and end in June.
The active departments inside our Institute are:
- Transportation design
- Industrial design
- Interior & furniture design
- Advertising & graphic design
