The department of Industrial Design was established in 1992 to lead students to the understanding of the spirit of industrial design and to help students to develop their own philosophy, methodology and capability in their actual practices, the studio-based curriculum pivots on the integration of a comprehensive understanding, reflection and criticism of humanities, social science technology and engineering fields. Meanwhile, under the belief of “to become an integrated character is the pre-requisite of a designer”, the department held all kinds of activities to provide students with different design experiences, to encourage students learning from DIY and improve their professional abilities through exhibitions, the performing parties and conceptual installations both inside and outside of the campus
