A nationwide society or section of a society or organisation that devotes its efforts to the advancement of industrial design by means of information or promotional activities may apply to be a promotional member of Icsid. 

Promotional members typically work to advance industrial design by working with government and other national agencies or through initiatives that highlight effective design practice.

Each promotional member can attend the General Assembly with two delegates and has one vote.
