Eating is no longer a purely essential occupation but something that has developed into an activity, a ritual or social fact. Eating has above all become a sensual experience of tastes and pleasure. We all do our best to make eating into a pastime that is as attractive as possible. External factors such as a pleasing, attractive, functional and/or beautiful dinning environment also ensure that eating can have a positive influence on our minds and spirits.

This BetterFood exhibition, hosted by Design Flanders is therefore not about the food itself, but about the products that have been designed for the preparation, preservation and packaging of food and various dishes, and also about the products associated with the eating ritual.
