iF MATERIAL AWARD
Materials and material applications are an increasingly pivotal aspect of product development, since new compounds and refinements form the indispensable basis for new product ideas and design innovations, not to mention high-quality design.
The iF material award, presented for the fourth time ever in 2008, was created as a platform for important new developments from the world of materials. The competition, consisting of the four categories of materials and materials applications, products, ideas and processes, is open to manufacturers, designers, developers, design engineers and architects. This seal of fine design presented to winners of an iF material award is at once an endorsement of their design competence and a decision-making aid for users and consumers.
The results of the main competition and its five iF gold awards will be on display at the special show material TRENDS at HANNOVER FAIR (April 21 to 25 April, 2008) as well as in the iF online exhibition.
The iF material award is open to manufacturers, designers, architects, developers and design engineers until December 14, 2008.
