December 7 and 11

In direct relation to the context established within the framework of the Fifth Latin American Regional Meeting of Icsid, the School of Design DuocUC will organises a design congress which will seek to discuss and articulate opportunities with regards to the key strategies for the development of the design industry. During this congress, the panelists attending the Icsid Regional Meeting will have direct access to the Chilean design community through a public event whose main purpose is to contrast the local views with design education experiences of recognised international relevance.

Areas for discussion will include education, professional practice, employability, and sustainable development.

The core subject of the congress will be to review the Best Practices in Design Education, using as a starting point the competitiveness ranking developed by Business Week Magazine to classify and distinguish the world’s best schools of design 2006 and 2007.
