Singapore - Over 500 creative thinkers from almost 40 countries around the world, set to build a better-designed future, are converging in Singapore for the 26th Icsid World Design Congress themed "Design Difference, Designing Our World 2050".

Boston (United States) - DMI (Design Management Institute) welcomes Pierre Yves Panis to their European Advisory Council. A passionate design management advocate and long-time DMI member and conference attendee, Panis joins other international design leaders to advise and council on DMI programs and activities.

Cincinnati (United States) - I.D., The International Design Magazine, has announced the Call for Entries for the 2010 Annual Design Review. Professionals and students have until 1 December to submit work created between 1 January and 1 December 2009.

San Francisco (United States) - California College of the Arts (CCA) and Santa Clara University (SCU), competing as Team California, have won third place overall in the United States Department of Energy's 2009 Solar Decathlon.

Bangkok (Thailand) - From now until 31 January 2010, the Thailand Creative & Design Center presents the exhibition "Baht & Brains" to introduce the concept of Creative Economy as a new engine of economic development to the public.

Melbourne (Australia) - A new research report by Design Victoria, Designing Our Future: A Report on Tertiary Design Education in Victoria, looks at tertiary design education in Victoria to ensure the finest design graduates for the industry are being developed.

Frankfurt (Germany) - Five gold and 18 silver award winners in the Product Design category and five gold and 17 silver awards for Communications Design were selected by the 2010 Design Award jury. This year's Design Award for Personal Achievement goes to lighting designer Ingo Maurer.

Hannover (Germany) - Until 30 January 2010, manufacturers, designers, developers, constructors and architects are invited to take part in the annual iF material award and to compete for one of the sought-after honors.

Beijing (China) - The 2nd China Trade in Services Congress will be held at China National Convention Center in Beijing on 24-25 November 2009. Within this event, the Design Services Specialised Trade Talks will be organised by the Beijing Industrial Design Center.
