Beijing (China) - The 2009 China Red Star Design Award call for online applications closed successfully on 30 June 2009. With products from public devices, communications, electronics, home living, souvenirs, gifts, lighting and transportation tools, there were nearly 4000 entries submitted.

Seoul (South Korea) - Newly inaugurated as the chief design officer at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Chung Kyung-won says design will be the key engine for the drive to make Seoul a global city through the 'Design Seoul' initiative.

A part of the Seoul Design Olympiad 2009, an Icsid endorsed event, the Seoul Design Competition deadline for submissions is 15 July 2009.

Essen (Germany) - Tupperware, has been awarded the highest honorary distinction in the design world - the "red dot: design team of the year 2009". Tupperware's design team has consistently created best-in-class, innovative products which are showcased around the world.
