Barcelona (Spain) - The submission period for the 3rd edition of the International Design Contest "Jump the Gap", organised by Roca, with the support of the Barcelona Design Centre (BCD), came to an end with 382 proposals coming from 54 countries, which confirms this contest as one of main design events worldwide.

Participants enrolled in this Icsid endorsed contest had until 31 March 2009 to present their projects.'

Open to architecture and design professionals and students under 35 from around the world, this 3rd edition of the contest received the most projects from Spain, Russia and China, followed by Portugal, Poland and Bulgaria.

The jury, in charge of studying the projects and selecting the winning proposal, is composed by renowned professionals within the field of the architecture and design, including John Pawson, Mountain Héctor, Carlos Ferrater, Josep Congost, Alfredo Häberli, Carlos Lamela, Alberto Meda and Chantal Haimade.

Through this contest, Roca and BCD offer to young talents worldwide a launching platform through which they can present their innovative design creations within the scope of bathroom accessories.

The winning project will be presented on 24 September 2009 during the 100% Design fair in London, one of the most important forums in Europe within the world of design and interior design, at which the president of the jury, the prestigious architect John Pawson, will reveal the name of the winner.
