DEADLINE APPROACHING: SEOUL DESIGN COMPETITION

Seoul (South Korea) - The Seoul Metropolitan Government calls for a wide variety of ideas with an ambition to turn Seoul into an "attractive global city" and "soft city". A part of the Seoul Design Olympiad 2009, an Icsid endorsed event, the Seoul Design Competition deadline for submissions is 15 July 2009.

Welcoming innovative ideas conceived from multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural backgrounds and between different industries, the Seoul Design Competition encourages interflow, fusion and consilience in producing and manufacturing processes, aiming to discover a new promising potential and create inventive ideas.

There is no entry fee, eligibility requirements or limitation in category, but multidisciplinary approaches to the definition of design solution are recommended.

About the Seoul Design Olympiad
The Seoul Design Olympiad (SDO) 2009 is a comprehensive annual design event of the city of Seoul, composed of an exhibition, conference, competition and festival, based on the overall theme of 'i Design'. It will be an essential event shaping various creative perceptions of the design industry. SDO's mission to generate more design to improve life of higher quality in the city of Seoul. The audience would include the design fraternity, industry, media, representations from the design education field, and citizenry.

The SDO is hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Design Foundation and Icsid Promotional Member, Seoul Design Centre.
