ICSID WORLD DESIGN CONGRESS 2009: NEW DESIGN2050 STUDIOS ANNOUNCED

Singapore - Two new Design2050 Studios have been announced for the Icsid World Design Congress, themed "Design Difference - Designing Our World 2050". To participate in these upcoming events in Singapore from 23-25 November 2009, register before 31 July and receive the 45% early bird discount.

Latest Design2050 Studios

At the Congress, the Design2050 Studios will be lead by world-renowned Design Leaders who will address design issues affecting our future, including climate change, resource protection, mobility, health care, architecture and more. These design leaders will present, discuss and refine their desired future scenarios with the delegates at the Congress.

In addition to the six existing Design2050 Studios, two additional Design2050 Studios are now confirmed.

Sustainable Cities 2050 by Foster + Partners
David Nelson and Stefan Behling of Foster + Partners will use Singapore as an example to tackle concepts of Sustainable Cities 2050 to address the unsustainable outcome of exponential growth in urban lifestyle.

Blindspots in Design 2050 by Toshiko Mori
Toshiko Mori, the Robert P. Hubbard Professor in the Practice of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School and the founder of Toshiko Mori Architect will tackle the blindspots in design - by utilising design as an analytical tool to assess the gaps in specialised disciplines that regulate all areas of life such as economic, societal, geopolitical and technological.

Launch of Online Forum

The online forum will go live on the official Icsid World Design Congress 2009 website www.icsidcongress09.com on 13 July 2009. This provides a platform for the public to exchange ideas around the Design2050 topics, and play a part in the Studios' design process of the future propositions. We invite you to join in the discussions and contribute your ideas on shaping a desirable future.
