Hannover (Germany) - As the iF International Forum Design events and competitions continue throughout the year, several notable initiatives have taken place over the last few months.

Essen (Germany) - red dot will celebrate a new chapter in the Hong Kong Design Institute where their former four faculties will be housed under one roof in their new design building complex.

London (United Kingdom) - The Prince Philip Designers Prize is the UK's longest-running design award, which celebrates how designers improve daily life by solving problems and turning ideas into commercially successful reality. This year's winner is IDEO co-founder, Bill Moggridge.

San Francisco (United States) - The California College of the Arts will be launching a new design programme in the field of Interaction Design starting in Fall 2011. Students will be taught to create a human-centered, interactive experience with a digital world.

Montreal (Canada) - It is with great sadness that Icsid announces the passing of Dr. Milton Tan on 8 November 2010. He was instrumental in developing international design relationships, which were significant in highlighting Singapore's design and creative industries on an international platform.

Barcelona (Spain) - The fifth BCN Design Week provided a valuable legacy showcased in several conclusions and core ideas about User Experience, Co-creation & Co-design, Design Management, Social Innovation and Mobile Design.

Sydney (Australia) - On 3 September 2010, twelve peak design organisations, representing all aspects of Australia's design industry and research networks, launched the Australian Design Alliance (AdA) to boost Australia's productivity, sustainability and innovation.

Montreal (Canada) – Icsid is currently inviting cities to submit applications for the World Design Capital® 2014 designation – a biennial international appointment that is conferred to a city for the period of one year, in recognition of its achievements and focus on design as a driving force for economic, social and cultural development.

Seoul (South Korea) - The City of Seoul and the Seoul Design Foundation recently held the 2010 Seoul Design Fair, promoting the social benefits of employing good design, especially in the realms of economics, education and city planning.

Helsinki (Finland) - The International Design Foundation is inviting proposals for the WDC Helsinki programme, according to the themes for "Open City", "Global Responsibility", and "Roots of New Growth".
