Oakland (United States) - Ryan Duke, a CCA alum, won the 2010 Oakland Indie Award in the "Greenie" category this past May. The Greenie category singles out a particularly great "environmental hero" who may be creating new products from used materials, using energy-efficient appliances, composting, or devising previously unknown ways to reduce waste.

Montreal (Canada) - Helen Fotopulos, City of Montreal Executive Committee member, announced that the city council has proclaimed October 4, 2010, World Architecture Day. Montreal thus joins the International Union of Architects in celebrating the first Monday in October under the theme "Better Cities, Better Lives, Sustainable by Design."
