Montreal (Canada) - The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) held its third board meeting of the 2009-2011 term in San Francisco, U.S.A, on 24-25 April 2010.

On behalf of Icsid Educational Member and board meeting host California College of the Arts (CCA), Icsid President and Provost of CCA Dr. Mark Breitenberg welcomed the board to San Francisco. It was Icsid's first visit to the region since the highly successful 2007 Icsid World Design Congress, giving board members the opportunity to reconnect with members and friends in the local design community during an Icsid regional exchange held prior to the meeting.

During the course of the weekend, the World Industrial Design Day 2010 student poster competition jury – comprising of several executive board members – convened to shortlist five entries from the 42 submitted. These five posters were placed on the Icsid website where the public voted to determine the winner.

The board also approved the provisional membership of the following organisations:

• Vancouver International Design Centre (associate)
• Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico Galileo Scpa - Scuola Italiana Design (educational)
• Woongjin Coway Co., Ltd (corporate)
