Helsinki (Finland) - Helsinki has recently unveiled the final Programme of Events for World Design Capital 2012. More than 250 projects will be realised over 366 days, including six signature events that are produced with Icsid.

San Rafael (United States) - Autodesk, Inc. has named A-dec, Inc. - a leading manufacturer of dental chairs and equipment - as Autodesk Inventor of the Month for November 2011, recognising its use of Autodesk software to more effectively design and develop products and generate technical documentation, such as user manuals and service guides, for its popular dentistry products.

Beijing (China) - China Red Star Design Award held their award ceremony in the China Millennium Monument in Beijing. Awarding 240 products across 139 enterprises. Red Star also participated in the 6th China Beijing International Cultural Creative Industry Expo.

Singapore - Concluding the seventh annual meeting of the DesignSingapore Council International Advisory Panel (IAP), the members put forward suggestions to use Design to harness new opportunities presented by rapid advances in digital technology.

Tokyo (Japan) - Japan Institute of Design Promotion, Japanʼs only comprehensive design promotion organization, has released the results of Special Award winners of Good Design Award 2011 on 9 November.

Hannover (Germany) - Starting in November 2011, iF International Forum Design GmbH will launch a monthly video podcast series entitled "iF closeup". The first podcast in the series, which is already available online, takes a closer look at the jury session for the iF design awards 2012.

Barcelona (Spain) - BCN Design Week 2011, organised by BCD Barcelona Design Centre, closed last 21 October. This new edition of BCN Design Week focused on the relationship between knowledge, innovation, opportunities and progress, key concepts of the European Innovation Policy, the Innovation Union, a key initiative of the of the 2020 strategy.

Gwangju (South Korea) - The fourth Gwangju Design Biennale hosted held its closing ceremony on 23 October with a record attendance of around 800,000 visitors. With the theme "Design is Design is Not Design," the 2011 Gwangju Design Biennale featured six main exhibitions: Urban Follies, Unnamed Design, Named Design, Community, Biennale City, and the Academy.

Taipei (Taiwan – Chinese Taipei) / Montreal (Canada) - Icsid announced the new slate of Executive Board of Directors for the 2011-2013 term at the close of its 27th General Assembly on 28 October. The biennial election, along with the announcement of the finalists for the inaugural World Design Impact Prize was the highlight of the two-day proceedings after the 2011 IDA Congress.

Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) - Icsid announced today, that the City of Cape Town (South Africa) has been designated the World Capital Design® (WDC) 2014. The designated city was revealed on the closing day of the International Design Alliance Congress in Taipei.
