Triennial of Design, Brussels - Belgium
Hosted by Design Flanders
Icsid joined Design Flanders to celebrate the 5th edition of its Triennial of Design on December 13, 2007. The City of Brussels hosted the Icsid Secretariat between 1974 and 1986 and has held a special place in Icsid's history. This year's Triennial theme was beauty as a discriminating factor between everyday products and designer objects. A new exhibition will show the results of a study and subsequent research bureau into the criteria that define beauty and why people are drawn to some objects and not others.

Destination 2007 - 2025: The 2nd International Conference of Design for Sustainability, Shirakawa-Go - Japan
Hosted by the International Design Center Nagoya (IdCN)
December 21 - 23, 2007
The first international conference on design for sustainability in 2006 attracted more than 260 participants and discussed possiblitiies, obstacles and actions to achieve a sustainable society. This year's edition will re-examine the road map to such a society, as well as the land map of sustainable society.
