- To update member information in the new Icsid membership database;
- To begin preparations for the member directory that will be distributed at the 2007 General Assembly;
- To populate each member’s profile page that will be available on the new website framework;
- To collect budget information to assist in our membership fee-restructure analysis;
- To understand the expectations of our members.
Of the 154 profiles sent, only 42 completed profiles were returned, which gave a total response rate of 27%. Despite the low response, Icsid was still able to learn about its members and about their needs – with pleasing results.
We were encouraged to learn that our activities are in line with the expectations of the members in the areas of networking, information sharing, events and development of industrial design. Through our multiple events that take place all over the world each year, we provide a successful forum for international experience sharing and for the development of best practices across the globe. Our monthly communications also allows a network in the thousands to stay connected with one another and with the most relevant industry news.
Of course, as is always the case, there is room for improvement and Icsid has taken into account the comments and recommendations made for developments to the organisation. One particular area was government relations.
