Registration is now open for the 2007 Icsid/IDSA World Design Congress, which takes place from October 17-20, in San Francisco, USA. This will be the first Icsid Congress in the United States since 1985 and will be the highlight of the 50th anniversary celebrations that will also take place through the course of 2007.

The call for education papers and proposals is now open
The IDSA National Education Council has opened submissions for papers and presentation proposals for the 2007 IDSA International Education Symposium that will take place in conjunction with the Congress.
Educators, graduate students and practitioners are encouraged to submit abstracts of their recent work. Proposals will be considered for presentation, publication or both.
Special consideration will be given to papers that address any of the three CONNECTING'07 themes as they apply to design education:
- Physical Connections
- Virtual Connections
- Cultural Connections
Abstracts must be submitted online by January 19, 2007 for consideration.

The call for general presentations and papers is now open
The CONNECTING’07 Program Committee invites you to join design leaders from around the globe to advance the discourse on design and the many ways it connects us to our world. The committee hopes that you will propose a presentation, paper, workshop or panel discussion for its review and possible inclusion at the Icsid/IDSA Congress.
Topics of particular interest include:
- Design in the Americas: Presentations by countries in Latin and North America on the influences and work, challenges and achievements of designers in these countries
- The State of Design and Design Promotion: Reports from design centres and associations providing an overview on design promotion and the cultures of design in various countries and regions
