This month's edition of eNews is all about change. In today's emerging world, how do we, as designers inspire change? What motivates us? What calls us to action?
One good place to start is at the Icsid Icsid World Design Congress Singapore 2009: "Design Difference – Designing our World 2050".
What do YOU want your world to be in 2050?
It is not what will, but rather, what can our world be in 2050?
Design goes beyond invention. It is envisioned through imaginative concepts; transformed through creative processes; and applied to what we value in our lives, culture, society, and the environment. Good design is often ahead of the market and sometimes beyond the horizon.

| Design can make a difference. It is about an intentional future.
In November 2009, the Icsid World Design Congress will be the place for us to chart this future.
The Congress in Singapore will be the place where the future is collectively charted, by both creative leaders and delegates. This is not "just another congress". Expect to be engaged before, during and after. The Congress will generate a series of propositions for a desirable future, under the theme of "Design Difference: Designing our World |
2050". It will have a strong action agenda, culminating in a declaration of action by Congress participants.
It is time for all of us to play a part in designing and shaping our world in 2050.
