Montreal hosts Icsid Executive Board Meeting, theme chosen for 3rd annual World Industrial Design Day

Icsid held the inaugural executive board meeting of 2010 for the 2009-2011 term at the Secretariat on 30-31 January in Montreal (Canada). One of the highlights of the meeting was the board's selection of the theme for the third annual World Industrial Design Day on 29 June 2010, which is: "Industrial Design: Humane solutions for a resilient world".

Exciting changes and new appointments at the Icsid Secretariat
Icsid is pleased to announce that Ms Andréa Springer will take on a new role as the Programme Director for the World Design Capital initiative – a post she moves into after having held the Icsid Communications Manager position since 2005.

Icsid is also pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the Secretariat team. Effective immediately, Ms Tu Tram Pham as Icsid's new Online Communications Officer, and Mr Rafael Mayor-Mora as Icsid's new Communications Manager, will join the Secretariat to implement the organisation's mandate by contributing critical skill-sets and experience.

Icsid President Dr. Mark Breitenberg recently interviewed renowned designer Tim Brown following the 29 September release of his book "Change by Design". Brown explores the concept of design thinking, its practical experiences in product design and exalts the virtues of divergent thinking.
