Sponsorship & Partnership Development Officer
The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) is currently seeking an accomplished and innovative sponsorship specialist to join the organisation as the Sponsorship & Partnership Development Officer.
The Sponsorship & Partnership Development Officer will create, sustain and nurture existing and new relationships with corporate partners internationally, which have demonstrated a commitment towards design as a tool to improve quality of life.
The ideal candidate is an experienced professional interested in the global expansion of the sponsorship/partnership programme of the World Design Capital® initiative, with the aim of implementing a similar strategy across all of Icsid's programmes including the World Design Impact Prize, Interdesign Workshops and World Industrial Design Day. This person will excel in a diverse, international and multi-stakeholder setting, which values collaboration, excellence and integrity.
As a key member of this INGO headquartered in Montreal (Canada), the candidate possesses superior judgment, communication skills and diplomacy and will work under the direction of the Secretary General. A self-starter, she/he will work to drive new funding for the organisation.
The successful candidate will engage and build relationships with corporations, individuals, foundations and other organisations through the successful acquisition, management and stewardship of sponsors and partners. She/he will utilise and build on Icsid's existing Sponsorship/Partnership Plan by identifying opportunities for support, as well as by creating strategies to gain and enhance the interest and involvement of potential sponsors, partners and other supporters.
The Sponsorship & Partnership Development Officer will be the main point of contact relating to contractual management issues and will monitor the delivery of terms as outlined in agreements. She/he will be responsible for writing proposals, collaborating in the development of collateral materials, identifying benefits, reviewing contracts and product licensing agreements, as well as recommending new initiatives to support the organisation.
Experience working with international leaders in creative industries, advertising/marketing agencies, and brand managers with respect to partnership development will be viewed as an asset.

- Responsible for raising financial support related to the sponsorship needs of the organisation
- Work closely with the Secretary General, as well as team and board members regarding sponsorship opportunities
- Develop business and marketing plans for sponsorship and partnership development
- Collaborate in the development of marketing and sales materials to support plans
- Develop and update pricing strategies and benefits structure
- Research, book and hold meetings with potential partners
- Negotiate, implement and monitor agreements
- Act as a liaison with external organisations and partners
- Oversee day-to-day management of sponsor/partner relations, fulfilment of agreements, evaluations and other administrative and marketing activities related to sponsorship.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experienced professional with a proven successful track record in the area of sponsorship/partnership development
- Analytical and critical thinking approach to the planning and implementation of proposals, contracts and agreements
- Strong international relationship building skills and ability to maintain and steward partnerships
- Have successfully structured new and innovative sponsorship/partnership packages and possess outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills needed to deliver these opportunities
- Possess strong leadership skills and ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects and thrive in a deadline driven environment along with the ability to think strategically, as well as creatively solve problems
- Proficiency with technology and database software is an asset
- Knowledge and /or appreciation for industrial design
- Language skills: strong verbal and written English and French is preferred along with another language
